Reflecting on Our Journey Together
Dear CTCC Family,
As I write my final President’s Message, I do so with immense pride and heartfelt gratitude. Serving as President of the Canadian Tamils’ Chamber of Commerce (CTCC) for nearly two years has been a truly rewarding experience and a privilege to lead such a respected and well-established organization.
During my tenure, I am proud to have contributed to several meaningful milestones. One of the highlights was celebrating CTCC’s 35th Anniversary and releasing our Legacy Video, showcasing the Chamber’s remarkable journey, achievements, and contributions over the past 35 years. We also proudly opened the CTCC Quebec Chapter, expanding our presence and creating new opportunities for business networking and collaboration. Another important achievement during my presidency was the purchase of Unit 3, made possible through the generous financial support and trust of our member donors. Their willingness to step forward when CTCC needed support was instrumental in helping us secure this important asset for the Chamber.
Our commitment to community service remained a key priority. On September 25, CTCC served as the Presenting Sponsor of the 2026 Tamil Radiothon in support of Scarborough Health Network. Through the generosity of our community, approximately $145,000 was raised in one day, bringing us within $5,000 of our fundraising goal. This achievement reflects the power of collective action and our shared commitment to community well-being.
We also continued to support entrepreneurship, professional development, and community engagement through initiatives such as the TVZ Pitch Competition, AI seminars, Speaking Club, and networking events. On September 26, our Summer’s Night Affair: Masquerade Edition, organized in collaboration with the Canadian Tamil Alumni Network and Ravana AfterDark, brought together more than 150 participants for an evening of connection and celebration. The net proceeds from this event will be donated to Markham Stouffville Hospital, further reflecting our commitment to giving back to the community and supporting local healthcare.
None of these accomplishments would have been possible without teamwork and dedication. I extend my sincere appreciation to the Boards of Directors for 2024–2025 and 2025–2026, whose guidance, commitment, and support were instrumental throughout my presidency. I am equally grateful to our members, sponsors, partners, volunteers, past presidents, and community supporters for their continued trust and encouragement.
As I approach the completion of my two-year term, I look back with gratitude and forward with confidence in CTCC’s future. While my presidency is coming to an end, my commitment to CTCC and our business community remains strong. I am proud of what we have achieved together and look forward to seeing the Chamber continue to grow and flourish.
Thank you for the privilege of serving as your President. Together, we have strengthened our legacy, created new opportunities, and built a stronger foundation for the generations to come.
With sincere gratitude,
Ari A. Ariaran, CPA
